Reversible Fabric Headbands Easy Sew Tutorial
Have you ever wanted a fabric headband to match your outfit? Now’s your chance! You can make your own reversible fabric headbands with this easy tutorial. It’s time time to break out the sewing machine because you don’t want to miss this fun project from sparkleofsunshine.com!!
Materials needed for this project:
o Coordinating fabric ~ Scraps and fat quarters are perfect!
o Soft stretch elastic
o Sewing machine
o Thread
Reversible Fabric Headbands Directions:
Iron and fold fabric over. Place the wide end of the headband template against the folded end of fabric. Trace and cut out fabric. You will need two pieces of coordinating fabric for each headband.
Fold over ends of fabric 1/4 inch and iron flat.
Place fabric right sides in and pin into place. Sew the long sides of the headband together, leaving the short ends open.
Turn fabric right side out and iron flat. Cut a piece of elastic for your headband. I used a 10 inch piece for my adult headbands and 8 inch piece for the child headbands, but you can adjust the size easily by measuring the head for a perfect fit. Slide one end of the elastic 1/2 inch inside one end of headband and stitch across. Tuck the other end of elastic 1/2 inch inside the opposite end (make sure the elastic band doesn’t twist!) and stitch across.
Top stitch around the entire headband for a finished look.
I hope you enjoy this project as much as I know I will.
